- Android users need to install 2.20.132 Beta update from Google Play Store and 2.20.50.25 Beta from App Store
- Automatically calling all users if the group has 8 or fewer members
- If there are more than 8 members in the group, the user will have to manually select the other 7 members
The group has become part of the video calling routine in lockdown because of the coronavirus. People are choosing video group calling for Work From Home or Amhasta Fun. Just last week, WhatsApp came out with news that Group Calling Limit would increase to hit the controversial video calling app ‘Zoom’. Finley WhatsApp increased the group calling limit for its beta users by 8 members. Both Android and iOS beta users will benefit from this. WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp news, shared the information.
8 members will be able to call the group
The group’s 8 members can do video / calling group calling in a new feature launched for beta users. If the group has 8 or fewer members, all users can be automatically called. But if the group has more than 8 members then the user will have to manually select the other 7 members.
The user will need to install a beta version
To take advantage of this feature, the user will have to install a beta version of WhatsApp on their smartphone. Android users will need to install the 2.20.132 beta update from the Google Play Store and iOS 2.20.50.25 from the App Store. However, this feature has been launched only for some beta users. Users can make audio / video group calling by clicking on the group’s calling icon. Previously WhatsApp group calling was limited to 4 members.
‘Call header’ feature
A feature called ‘Call Header’ has been launched in Android 2.20.129 Beta users. This header contains the message ‘Calling to end and encrypted’. This means that WhatsApp or any other organization cannot decode the calling data.
WhatsApp has only limited users to send forwarded message only a few days ago. The decision was made to curb rumors regarding the coronavirus.
