ZenFone 8 Series Launch May 12 – IP68 Rating, 3.5mm Jack Confirmed

ASUS is set to launch its exciting new ZenFone 8 series. The new flagship series devices will launch on May 12. As far as we know, these phones will feature perforations in the upper left corner of the screen. Although the models that will be launched under the series are still in the dark, there are strong rumors that suggest that there will be three devices: the ZenFone 8, the ZenFone 8 Mini and the ZenPhone 8 Flip.

How true is it that only time will tell, but ASUS has tweeted and confirmed that ZenFone 8 will feature IP68 rating which will make it resistant to water and dust. This is the first time that an ASUS has come with a certified waterproof and dustproof rating.

In addition to this, through a tweet, ASUS has shown smooth performance, which is likely to be seen on the next phone. This supposedly refers to the display and a higher refresh rate, but the trailer doesn’t give any specs.

Specs-wise, the ASUS ZenFone 8 Mini is rumored to feature a 5.92-inch display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. A high refresh rate is also expected on the ZenFone 8, although the screen size and display settings remain undisclosed.

The ZenFone 8 is likely to feature 16GB of RAM paired with the Snapdragon 888 processor that powers the guts. Maybe the smoothness that ASUS mocks it could be about the smooth running. However, it is anyone’s guess at this point. Interestingly, ASUS has confirmed that the phone will get 3.5mm headphone jack – a huge advantage among audiophiles without a doubt.
