Stadia, Google’s cloud-based game streaming platform, is making a bold promise at the start of the year. They announced that gamers can expect 100 new games to be added to the service this 2021, including “action-packed RPGs, competitive cooperative titles, and agile platforms.” They will bring the games over the next several weeks and months, although they have only announced a few games with release dates. However, it will likely be a challenge how they will do so after shutting down their internal Stadia game studio division.
Earlier this month, Google confirmed that they are shutting down Stadia’s in-house game development division due to some cost and time challenges they have faced in recent months. This means that there are no plans to create and develop exclusive content, but games will be released “in the short term.” So the new content to be added to Stadia and Stadia Pro will come from third-party studios, and some will likely come in an exclusive timed release.
So while it may be bad news for those looking for games developed by Google, the fact that they still exist 100 games coming to the Stadia platform It should be enough to get you back. So far, these are the games they have announced and some with release dates already.
