The Google Maps application is receiving a number of new features and enhancements. We recently learned about new AI-powered features that could help you navigate better. The app could now also remind you who shared their location with you. Some other recent changes include allowing you to pay the parking and transit fee from within the app, finding EV charging stations on Android Automotive, more precise street details (London, NYC, SF, Tokyo), as well as the community feed. on the Explore tab.
More changes and improvements are in the works. The last thing we learned is the “compass”. It is not really new. He was absent for a while but now he’s back.
Many Google Maps users have requested this feature. The compass is ready once again and is believed to be more reliable this time. We’re not exactly sure what happened to you, but you don’t need to worry if you’re still interested in this navigation feature.
It should be more accurate now. Problems reported by users for two years should now be fixed. The function still has a special use. People still turn to it for more information on a location.
Google Maps version 10.62 should already have the compass. Older version of Maps can get it too. We are crossing our fingers, the reliability and precision are really better. There early reports which still does not show the correct address. We’ll see what Google has to say more about the update.
