Fitbit is rolling out Google Assistant support for Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches in the US The update will roll out in the US starting today. Fitbit smartwatches already come with support for Alexa and the new software update has added more features to the watches, such as support for Alexa audible feedback.
Fitbit has released Fitbit OS 5.1 exclusively for Sense and Versa 3. Users who wish to purchase Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 will have the option to choose between two voice assistants such as the Google Assistant and Alexa. This would also make Fitbit the first smartwatch to come with dual voice assistant support.
In addition to the Google Assistant support, users will also be able to receive phone calls using the microphone. The watch comes with a built-in speaker that would allow users to handle calls. Fitbit has also launched a speech-to-text feature for Android users. Previously, users could only accept and reject calls from the smartwatch, but they had to use the phone to talk, but now they chat from the watch.
The new update will improve blood oxygen (SpO2) readings on Fitbit Sense and Versa 3.
Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 have yet to arrive in India. The company had revealed the prices of smart watches in India. Fitbit Sense was advertised in India for Rs 34,999, while Fitbit Versa 3 is priced at Rs 26,499. The Inspire 2 is a bit cheaper, costing Rs 10,999.
Sense is the most expensive smartwatch in the entire range. It comes with some advanced features. The smartwatch comes with an EDA sensor that is used to monitor stress. According to the company, no other smartwatch has this feature so far. In addition to the stress detector, Fitbit Sense also comes with an ECG app that can detect heart-related problems. The company says it has the most advanced heart rate detector technology installed in Fitbit Sense.
The Fitbit Sense also comes with a skin temperature sensor that takes notes from the user’s body calculator. Considering the pandemic in the air, this is one of the most important characteristics that a smartwatch can possess. Apart from this, the watch can also measure the respiratory rate and the resting heart rate, which would be useful to detect the first symptoms of the covid.
Similarly, the Versa also comes with features like heart rate monitoring, built-in GPS, and more.
