Evernote launches a new home panel with widgets

Even if they may have lost multiple users along the way due to the new pricing structures, Evernote is still one of the most popular note-taking and productivity apps out there. A few months ago, they finally released their first major redesign in years and now they bring the next major update for 2021. Users will now be able to see all the important and widely used features on their home panel via widgets. Basic, plus and premium users will be able to enjoy different widgets depending on the plan they subscribed to.

When you open your Evernote software, Home is the first thing you will see, which will be made up of the widgets that you chose or that are available to you. For basic and plus users, there are three default widgets available. First, you have recent notes to follow up on those you were working on before or suggested notes that Evernote will give you that it thinks you’ll want to open. The second widget is called Notepad which allows you to quickly capture thoughts, numbers, or whatever you need to jot down right away and then turn it into a note later if necessary. The third widget displays the recently captured web clips, images, documents, audio, and emails.

For Premium and Business users, you will get all three, as well as additional widgets that have more advanced functionality. You get a Notebooks widget that you can also choose Recent or Suggested. It also has a pinned notes section where you can easily view the note you use every day as a to-do list or a list of passwords. There is also a Tags widget where you can view the most frequently used tags for easy access. Finally, you can access your shortcuts in the Shortcuts wdiget.

Another benefit for Premium or Business subscribers is that they will be able to resize, reorder, or remove the widgets so that you can customize the home panel the way you want. You can also change your background image by choosing one from the pre-loaded image gallery or you can upload your own. They say this is just the beginning and they will bring more features in the coming months.

the Evernote Home Control Panel It will be released to Mac, Windows and Evernote Web users in the coming weeks. They said they will eventually roll it out for Android users as well, though no timetable was mentioned.
