With work from home culture becoming the norm for many this year and a surge in demand for OTT benefits, in 2020 telcos brought in some affordable broadband plans. Let’s take a look at these plans offered by Airtel, BSNL and Jio under Rs 1500.
Airtel Unlimited Rs 499 Broadband Plan: This broadband plan provides unlimited Internet speeds of up to 40 Mbps and other additional benefits such as subscription to Airtel XStream, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
Airtel Premium Rs 799 Broadband Plan: This broadband plan provides unlimited Internet speed up to 70 Mbps and other additional benefits such as subscription to Airtel XStream, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
As of writing this article, the Airtel website lists Rs 499 and Rs 799 as basic broadband plans. However, last month, some users noticed that the basic plans were revised to Rs 589 and Rs 943 respectively.
Airtel Entertainment Broadband Plan at Rs 999: The Airtel XStream entertainment broadband plan offers unlimited Internet and high-speed calling of up to 200 Mbps. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
Airtel Ultra Broadband Plan at Rs 1499: The Airtel XStream ultra-broadband plan offers unlimited Internet speeds up to 300 Mbps and unlimited local and STD calls. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 449 Broadband Plan: When BSNL launched its broadband plans in October, it said it will be for a 90-day promotional period. It will be seen if the telecommunications company regularizes this plan. The rs 449 broadband plan, also called Fiber Basic plan, offers a speed of 30 Mbps up to a speed of 3.3TB or a limit of 3300GB FUP. Once the FUP limit is reached, the speed drops to 2 Mbps. Users who opt for this plan will also get unlimited voice calls to any network within India. BSNL has made this plan widely available in all circles except Andaman and Nicobar.
BSNL Rs 599 Fiber Basic Plus Broadband Plan: This is another basic broadband plan that the state telecommunications company presented last week. As of now, this plan provides FTTH services. This plan offers speeds of 60 Mbps up to 3300 GB. The plan includes unlimited data benefits for users. Once users exhaust the monthly FUP limit, speeds will be reduced to 2 Mbps. However, there is no limit on the number of users that can download or upload at 2 Mbps speeds after reaching the FUP limit.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 799 Broadband Plan: This plan offers a speed of 100 Mbps up to 3300GB or 3.3 TB. Once the FUP limit is reached, the speed drops to 2 Mbps.
BSNL Premium Fiber Broadband Plan Rs 999: The BSNL Fiber Premium broadband plan offers a speed of 200 Mbps for Rs 999 up to 3300GB or 3.3 TB, after which the speed drops to 2Mbps. This plan comes with a free premium membership to Disney + Hotstar.
BSNL Ultra Fiber Rs 1499 Broadband Plan: This BSNL plan offers speeds of up to 300 Mbps up to 4TB or 4000GB. After the FUP limit, the speed is reduced to 4 Mbps. This plan also provides unlimited calling benefits to any network within the country. This plan also comes with a free premium membership to DIsney + Hotstar.
JioFiber has broadband plans starting at Rs 399 Rs 699. These plans offer truly unlimited internet at speeds of 30 Mbps and 60 Mbps respectively. These plans do not come with OTT subscriptions but do offer unlimited calling.
Jio Rs 999 Broadband Plan which comes with truly unlimited internet with download and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps. The plan also provides unlimited voice calls and access to 11 OTT applications including Amazon Prime, Disney + Hotstar worth Rs 1000. Other plans are in the slightly higher range.
JioFiber Diamond Broadband Plan: The diamond plan costs Rs 1499 and offers unlimited Internet with download and upload speeds limited to 300 Mbps. Besides providing unlimited voice calls, it also offers a free subscription to 12 OTT applications at no additional cost.
Users can also consider Excitel’s broadband plans that provide unlimited data with speeds of 100Mbps, 200Mbps and 300Mbps at Rs 699, Rs 849 and Rs 999 respectively for one month of validity in 13 cities.
