Arogya Setu, a Corona virus tracking app launched by the Indian government, has set a new record. This app has become the most downloaded app in the world. The Arogya Setu app was downloaded the highest of 8.08 crore times in the month of April. As of July, the Aarogya Setu app has been downloaded a total of 12.76 million times on the Apple App Store Store and Google Play Store. According to a report by Sensor Tower, Arogya Setu overtook other apps in Covid-19 tracing apps. But while Arogya Setu was the most frequently downloaded worldwide, India is ranked fourth in terms of Kovid-19 tracking app download. The Arogya Setu app has received an average of 5 lakh downloads every day in the month of June.
Australia’s COVIDSafe app has been downloaded 4.5 million times. 21.6% of the Australian population uses this app. The COVIDSafe app topped the Apple Play Store for 24 days. However, the rankings fell on 20 May. Talking about India, 12.5 per cent of the population here uses the Arogya Setu app. The survey is based on data from 14 countries including Australia, Turkey, Germany, India, Italy. According to the survey, only 17.3 crore people have launched the government app.
In its report, Sensor Tower, senior scholar at the John Hopkins University Center for Health Security, said the data shows Kovid-19 tracking apps to be very useful. India is currently in the top-5 among the countries affected by the corona virus epidemic and coronavirus is spreading rapidly in India. The Arogya Setu App has been developed by the National Informatics Center. It was released in April 2020. This app is present on the Google Play store. Its size is 4MP. Also the app supports 12 Indian languages.
