National champion convicted of doping, report after 19 months from Dubai laboratory; Dhoni-Virat sample was also taken
National champion and gold medalist hammer thrower Anita has failed a dope test at the Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships. He has been suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). Anita’s body is high in testosterone. Anita, who is a resident of Delhi, has been suspended from October 22. It was tested during the 23rd Federation Cup match at NIS Patiala in March last year. There he won the gold medal with a throw of 59.43 meters.
According to the Times of India website, NADA collected 48 samples of cricketers in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) in Dubai. He has been sent to Cologne Lab in Germany for testing. Eleven Indian cricketers were tested in the tournament, while 22 others were tested in the tournament. The international cricketers sampled after the five-player tournament and the 10-tournament. Indian captains Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were sampled.
Anita also won silver medals in two different athletics events at the Indian Grand Prix (GP) in Patiala and the All India Police Athletics Championships in Panchkula. The most interesting thing about Anita’s inquiry is the late report. It was sampled by NADA DCO 19 months ago. The results came a month before the Doha laboratory in Qatar. According to sources, the reason for the delay in reporting was the examination of samples of le thalites under isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS).
Anita was targeted by anti-doping authorities due to her high testosterone levels. Since their testosterone indicators exceed the prescribed threshold, NADA should scientifically examine their samples for IRMS. Recently, Narsingh Yadav, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Fogat and Pooja Dhandha have also been tested.
