There are more than one thousand corona positives in Tirupati city
The trust has clarified that there is no discussion on stopping darshan(praying) in the temple at present
Though all arrangements were made at the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh to prevent the transition, the Korona is spreading rapidly here. So far, more than 140 members of the trust have been affected. It includes 14 priests. As the case escalates, the workers’ union and the political party are now pressuring the temple to close for a few days. However, trust is not ready to close the temple at present.
The temple was opened on June 8 under Unlock-1. From June 11 it was opened to the general public. Only 2 days after that, i.e. from June 13, the cases of Corona started coming to the temple staff. The number of devotees here has started from about 6,000 to 15,000, but the crowds are now less visible due to the impact of the corona in the temple. Currently, 8 to 9 thousand devotees are doing darshan.
There is now a demand to stop darshan here as the transition to the temple has increased. Employees’ unions on Thursday also demanded that the temple be closed. So as not to spread corona to other employees and priests. Former Chief Minister of the state N. Chandrababu Naidu has also demanded from the Andhra government that necessary steps be taken before the situation worsens.
According to YV Subbareddy, chairman of the trust, the situation at the temple is now under control, so there is no point in closing the temple again. Employees who have tested positive have been quarantined.
Sanitation is done by the fountain at the time of entering the Tirupati Balaji Temple
Tirupati Balaji is the only temple in India where a tri-ozone spray system has been installed to prevent corona infection. It is sprayed with disinfectant on the people who come to the temple. From where people enter the temple and stand in line there is constant sanitization by the fountain. Yet the number of positive cases of corona in the temple is steadily increasing.
