An Emotional Return to the Stage
After more than a decade of silence, the rock world is buzzing with the news everyone hoped for but never thought would come: Rush is touring again. Surviving members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced the Fifty Something Tour for 2026, a momentous event dedicated to celebrating their incredible 50-year musical legacy and honoring their fallen brother, the legendary drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020.
A New Chapter Behind the Kit
In a heartfelt statement, Lee acknowledged the impossible task of replacing Peart, stating, “as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.” However, he revealed that life is “full of surprises” and introduced German drummer Anika Nilles as the musician chosen to join them. Lee expressed immense excitement to introduce her to Rush’s loyal fanbase for this new chapter.
Tour Dates and Honoring a Legacy
The tour will launch with two nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the same venue where Peart performed his final concert with the band in 2015. The limited run of dates also includes stops in Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Cleveland. Crucially, this reunion carries the full blessing of Peart’s widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter Olivia Peart, who stated they are “thrilled to support the Fifty Something Tour” and honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy.
