Neural DSP brings flagship tone to a smaller footprint
Neural DSP unveiled the Quad Cortex Mini at NAMM 2026, offering the full sound and processing power of the original Quad Cortex in a compact, pedalboard-friendly package. At just 22.8 x 11.8 x 6.5 cm and 1.5 kg, the Mini shaves roughly 50% off the size of the flagship while retaining the same modelling architecture and Neural Capture technology.
What the Quad Cortex Mini offers
The Mini centers on a 7″ touchscreen and four stainless-steel rotary footswitches for tactile control. It supports Neural Capture V1 and V2 for capturing amps, cabs, drive pedals, fuzzes and compressors. The onboard library includes 90+ amp models, 100+ effects, 1,000+ IRs and more than 2,000 Captures, plus free access to thousands of community Captures via Cortex Cloud.
Design and hands-on control
Neural DSP emphasises performance-focused control in the smaller form: the Focus system maps fast parameter control to the rotary footswitches, Pages expands switch functionality without extra hardware, and Gig View provides a clean live-performance layout. The unit also introduces a locking power connector to secure live operation.
I/O and studio-ready features
The Mini packs extensive I/O for its size: an instrument/mic combo input with phantom power, balanced XLR outputs, stereo send/return via TRS, MIDI over TRS and USB-C, and a headphone output for quiet practice. Users can move presets and system backups between the full-size Quad Cortex and the Mini, making it easy to integrate into existing setups.
Software upgrades: CorOS 4.0
Alongside the hardware launch Neural DSP released CorOS 4.0.0, which adds new reverbs and tools such as Phase Doctor for aligning signals in stereo rigs and multi-amp setups. The company frames the Mini as carrying forward the same studio-grade audio quality and machine-learning modelling that defined the original Quad Cortex.
Price, availability and verdict
The Quad Cortex Mini is available now, priced at €1,299. For players who want flagship Quad Cortex tones in a pedalboard-sized unit, the Mini aims to deliver without compromise — keeping the same processing depth and Capture ecosystem while opening up new options for stage, studio and travel-friendly rigs.
