What to bring and security rules
Organizers emphasize safety. Expect around 500 security personnel, metal detectors at six entrances, and fenced perimeters. Dress warmly and arrive early to clear security lines.
Permitted items: clear bags no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″, small non-transparent wallets (max 4.5″ x 6.5″), and personal cameras. Banned items include backpacks, coolers, weapons, outside alcohol, fireworks, laser pointers and pets (service animals allowed).
Parking, rideshare and public transit
Officials recommend using rideshare or public transit. Designated rideshare/taxi pick-up and drop-off zones include James Robertson Parkway and Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. A WeGo bus will run between Broadway and Bicentennial Mall every 10 minutes from 6:15 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
There is a rideshare staging area near 10th Circle North, but space is limited. For detailed downtown parking maps, consult VisitMusicCity.com or Nashville Downtown parking resources.
Road closures and impacts
Road, sidewalk and parking closures began weeks before the Big Bash. Many closures remain in effect through Jan. 1–6 in areas around James Robertson Parkway, Rep. John Lewis Way, Jefferson Street, 6th–8th Avenues and nearby blocks. All closures should be lifted by Jan. 6 at the latest. Check the event page for exact reopening times if you live or work nearby.
