Duff offered insight into the theme of her new single, describing it as a reflective and self-aware track. She called it a moment of “self-talking to my younger self about an experience that we had and just reflecting on it, and being okay with it.”
She added that the song has a “little tongue-in-cheek moment with yourself and accepting your past and being good with where you landed.” The upcoming music video will visually represent this theme, showing “the journey of the two me’s meeting.” It will also feature a “sweet butterfly moment,” a nostalgic nod to her iconic 2003 album, Metamorphosis.
