A Fan’s Desperate Plea Goes Viral
Grammy-winning Christian artist Brandon Lake’s music has become an anthem of hope for millions, but for one fan, it became a lifeline. From her hospital bed, social media creator Alexandria Cheplak shared an emotional video detailing her harrowing, year-long health journey and made a heartfelt request to see her favorite artist live.
Cheplak revealed she has endured numerous heart surgeries, spent at least 40 nights in the hospital, and faced a barrage of complications. Through it all, she said one thing remained constant: her faith, amplified by worship music.
“The one thing that has gotten us all through is worship music,” Cheplak explained in her video. “Every time I’ve gone down for a scan, every time the surgeon was about to start a heart surgery, we have them blast my favorite worship music and my faith has just really kept me going through this.”
A Community Rallies for a Fan in Need
Hoping to attend Lake’s sold-out concert in Nevada on November 14, Cheplak asked her followers for a simple “favor”: tag Brandon Lake in the comments. The response was immediate and overwhelming.

The Power of a “Hard Fought Hallelujah”
Cheplak later shared with Country Now the gravity of her situation, noting that her most recent of 30 total heart surgeries left her “on life support, bleeding out, and a ventilator for a week.” She specifically credited Lake’s collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” with giving her the courage to fight through her “hardest battle yet.”
“Witnessing these songs live will be so healing and special for me! Especially the line ‘my head heart and hands are feeling heavy that’s when I lift them just a little higher,’” she explained.
In her most recent update, Cheplak announced she has been discharged from the hospital, though she requires home oxygen. Her final message was one of resilience: “Thank you Jesus. This heart warrior won’t stop fighting until I stop breathing.”
