A Painfully Honest Return
Four years after her last solo effort, Brandi Carlile is making a monumental return to the global stage with “The Human Tour.” This extensive arena tour is in support of her highly anticipated eighth studio album, Returning to Myself, scheduled to drop on October 24 via Interscope Records/Lost Highway. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting new music are about to be rewarded with a project Carlile has described with startling honesty.
In a previous statement, Carlile offered a raw glimpse into the album’s creation, admitting, “I’m not my favorite person to spend my time with. Returning to myself is not just a lonely, but a painfully boring thing to do. So much so that I’m actually not at all interested in doing it.” This vulnerable confession sets the stage for a deeply personal 10-song record, featuring tracks like “Human,” “Church & State,” and “A War With Time.”
Star-Studded Collaboration and Production
To bring this introspective vision to life, Carlile assembled a powerhouse production team, including herself, Andrew Watt, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon. The album also features collaborations with her longtime bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth, SistaStrings (Monique and Chauntee Ross), and a roster of acclaimed musicians like Josh Klinghoffer, Chad Smith, Matt Chamberlain, and Blake Mills.
The Human Tour: Dates You Can’t Miss
The tour kicks off on February 10 in Philadelphia, promising unforgettable nights at some of the world’s most iconic venues. From Madison Square Garden in New York to The O2 in London, this tour is a testament to Carlile’s massive appeal. Fans in North America will also be treated to opening performances by special guests The Head and the Heart. With tickets going on sale October 31, demand is expected to be incredibly high, so be sure to mark your calendar.
