2008 Slasher the strangers Widely considered a defining entry in the horror house-invasion sub-genre, it earned a 2018 sequel The Strangers: Pre at Night, a new report has claimed that the franchise has three sequels which are all headed for development. Given that the first entry was more of a cult success than a financial victory, and with the release of the follow-up somewhat underwhelming, this news would certainly come as a surprise to viewers, however. Considering the effectiveness of both the movies, this would be exciting news for horror fanatics.
when the subject the strangers came along Bloody Disgusting’s Boo Crew PodcastProducer Roy Lee admitted, “I think the next three months are in production with another filmmaker that people will know.”
In the original film a couple is tormented by masked men, when pressed about why they are attacking the couple, they claim, “Because you were at home.” In the sequel, a similarly chaotic experience unfolds as a group of masked maniacs terrorize a family in a trailer park for no rhyme or reason.
Knowing that any sequels are in development, let alone three, that are reportedly rolling out at the same time, speculation has swirled among fans about what this means for the franchise. sure. It is completely unknown whether these three films will be shot together or if we can expect three separate stories from one filmmaker overseeing the three films.
Part of what makes the events of the films so disturbing is that the original film’s writer/director Brian Burtino brought together a mix of real-life events for a disturbing narrative.
“When I was a kid, I read messy, I moved to this small town to be with my grandma and dad – I don’t know why – said, ‘Hey, do you want to read a book while you’re gone?’ and he gives me messy who’s definitely a big boy to read,” Burtino shared back in 2008, “Even now, what grabs me is this section, not what was going on with Charles Manson or the family. I was thinking about the Tate murders and realizing that these detailed descriptions made it so.” The story I portrayed was like home with the victims. But none of the victims knew about the Manson family or why this was happening to them. So, I got really thrilled to tell the story of the victims. And Wasn’t filling it with FBI profiles and finding out that someone’s grandmother beat them up and now they want to kill everyone. You read obituaries every day where someone is killed for a random reason. Yes, we Might find out eventually, but sometimes they don’t.”
He continued, “As a writer, there was nothing I wanted James to do that I thought I could do. There was no bravery. I tried to do a gut check. When we did the film made, scott [Speedman] Tried to examine the gut. How brave would I have been? I didn’t want this movie to be about what you wish you would do as much as you would?”
