Most entries in Cruel The franchise has adopted science-fiction themes and situations, but with the upcoming to hunt, director Dan Trachtenberg aims to take the concept years into the past, an idea he’s been contemplating for decades. In fact, the idea of the film is not even necessarily related to the events of the original 1987. I remember him clearly saying it was the character, Billy [Sonny Landham]A Native American Scout who fights hunters on a bridge over a waterfall.”
Curiously, that scene wasn’t actually in the movie, but it was a concept that resonated with him.
Featuring an ensemble of colorful characters in the original film, Billy had to compete on-screen with characters played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Vaders, and Jesse Ventura. As if the initial imagery of such a character battling the Predator wasn’t compelling enough, Trachtenberg also wanted to have a character who could usually be a supporting figure at the center of a film’s story.
The filmmaker shared, “I wanted to focus on someone who would normally be a sidekick.” “In CruelBilly was just one of the men on the team. In to huntWe are seeing someone leading this film who has never led a film like this before.”
