As the actor recalled recently, his management team contacted him one night to ask if he would hop on a Zoom chat with Marvel later. Before the night was over, Goldstein was offered the role of the Greek god.
“No, I didn’t know what it was for. He said, “And they go to Zoom and they tell me exactly what you see in the movie, which is how they open up like, ‘So Russell Crowe is Zeus,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, right, Go .’ And blah, blah, blah. And then they turn and they reveal ‘It’s Hercules; it’s you.’ And I went, ‘What?’ Like, ‘Are you serious? Are you king with me? Is it a breeze?’ So yeah, it was as surprising to me as I think it is to other people.”
