Sopranos star Tony Sirico’s 79. died on

Tony Sirico, actor best known for portraying Peter Paul “Polly Walnuts” Gualtieri the SopranosHas died at the age of 79. news had broken through them the Sopranos Co-star Michael Imperioli, who took to Instagram on Friday to remember the actor. Imperioli’s post revealed that Sirico died on Friday, July 8. At present the cause of death is unknown.

“I am sad to say that my dear friend, colleague and partner in crime, the great Tony Sirico, has passed away today,” wrote Imperioli’s post. “Tony was like no other: He was as tough, as loyal, and as big-hearted as I’ve ever known. I was by his side: through the good times and the bad. But mostly the good. And we had a lot of laughs. We found a groove as Christopher and Paulie and I’m proud to say that I had my best and funniest job with my dear friend Tony. I will miss him forever . He is truly irreplaceable. I send love to his family, friends and his many fans. He was lovely and will never be forgotten. Heartbroken today.”

Born in New York City on July 29, 1942, Sirico became interested in acting during a stint in prison, after meeting an acting troupe made up of former convicts. Sirico made his debut as an extra in the 1974 film crazy joe,
