Walmart now has an official streaming partner for its new Walmart+ subscription service. The retail giant is exploring a streaming service to add to its Walmart+ benefits, talking with Disney, Paramount and Comcast in the process. On Monday, Walmart revealed that it has officially partnered with Paramount and will begin offering Paramount+ As part of your Walmart+ subscription package.
Walmart+ costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year, and offers members discounts on gas, free delivery and shipping, and many other premium discounts. Now, both the plans will also include a subscription to Paramount+ Essential Plan. This allows a Walmart+ subscription to be compared to Amazon Prime, which gives members access to the entire streaming service, along with shipping benefits.
“We know that Walmart+ is providing members with real value in their every day — from grocery shopping to filling their tanks and more,” said Chris Crecchiolo, Walmart+ senior vice president and general manager. “With the addition of Paramount+, we are demonstrating our unique ability to help members save even more and live better lives by providing entertainment for less. Sixty-five percent of American households use streaming services1 and Paramount+ has premium content and wide appeal. Our members are looking for – like Walmart, they have something for everyone. We’re excited about the launch and what’s next for Walmart+.”
