Lord Of The Rings Director Contemplates Hypnotism To Forget Him, Creates Film Trilogy

Many movie fans wish they could re-watch their favorite movies for the first time, to recapture that thrill and excitement of seeing that thrill for the first time, but just in case The Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson, the director of the trilogy, never got to enjoy the movies as an audience member, given how deeply invested he was in the productions. The filmmaker recently recalled that he is so envious of other moviegoers that he considered going through hypnotherapy to make him forget that he made the movies, giving him the opportunity to consume the experience anew. Will get opportunity.

“When we did The Lord of the Rings movies I’ve always felt I’m an unlucky person to never get to see as a blue film,” shared Jackson Hollywood Reporter, “I was immersed in it for five or six years by the time the screening happened. It was such a loss to me that I couldn’t see them like everyone else. I really seriously considered going to some hypnotherapy guy. Thought so that I could be hypnotized. Forget about movies and work I’ve done in the last six or seven years so I can sit back and enjoy them. I didn’t follow through, but I talked [British mentalist] Darren Brown about him and he thought he could do it.”

Following the success of that trilogy, Jackson was developing a live-action adaptation. hobbit, which originally had Guillermo del Toro on board to direct. When del Toro left the project, Jackson stepped down in all three installments, once again denying him the chance to enjoy the world of Middle-earth from a different perspective.

Fortunately, the upcoming TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set in a completely different time than the events of The Lord of the Rings, allowing Jackson to enjoy the adventure with completely refreshed eyes. Interestingly, Jackson claims that Amazon Studios asked him to join the project, although they never sent him any scripts. Whether this was due to their desire to go in a different direction with the franchise or just a communications oversight remains to be revealed.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Premieres on Prime Video on September 2.
