jurassic Franchises have become a cornerstone of our popular culture, spanning decades of movies, animated series, and the like. Earlier this summer, audiences were treated to the culmination of that saga. Jurassic World Dominion, which opened in theaters to some impressive box office numbers, but to mixed reviews. Now, fans are getting a chance to see the film in a whole new way, with an expanded version of Dominion being released on home media. It not only gives fans a look at 14 minutes of additional footage from the film, but also a series of tie-in shorts or features — and director Colin Trevorrow is hypnotizing it in a special way. Trevorrow recently argued on Twitter that “friends don’t let friends watch the theatrical cut,” seemingly that fans should only see the new version of the film.

Jurassic World Dominion has been described as a bold, timely and intriguing new adventure spanning the globe. The film takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar. The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, Devanda Wise, Mamoudou Ethie, BD Wong, Isabella Serman and Omar C.

“This is the movie I’ve been waiting for from the start,” Trevorrow told reporters during a press conference for the animated series. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous in 2020. “This is what we spent the last two films producing. It was part of a really bigger story and design. And I think people may have underestimated the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in this movie. It’s very much a costume, and he [includes] The ability to take on these beloved characters almost 30 years now, and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world we’ve never really seen before, and haven’t seen until now have found. It’s very exciting for me. I’m having the time of my life.”
