I’m Groot producer teases futuristic animated series set in multiverse saga

The Marvel Cinematic Universe spent its first 11 years in the making of Infinity Saga, with all roads leading to a showdown with Thanos on the Infinity Stones. Now, the MCU is going down a very different path with the Multiverse Saga. The introduction of the Multiverse allows for all kinds of different possibilities, including animated projects, to take place within the MCU. what if…? And I’m Groot Chances are that just bening.

Brad Winderbaum, the animated producer of Marvel Studios, spoke with Diversity About newly released I’m Groot The shorts and the open about what the Multiverse Saga means for the future of the studio’s animated projects.

“I think the amazing thing about Multiverse Saga in particular is that you can go on so many more streets,” Winderbaum said. “We’ve experimented in the studio for a long time about telling stories that happen in a linear fashion, but going back in time, and being able to show how the MCU can blossom into the past. But what does the Multiverse do? Well, it allows us to look at alternate paths and see other characters, which is, of course, what happens in comic books because different actors, different writers, different storytellers work with characters. You see them as unexpected, unpredictable. Let’s see that expanding and growing in ways. And it’s something that is our guiding light as we create more animated projects.”

Just because I’m Groot While technically associated with feature films in the MCU, that doesn’t mean that all Guardians of the Galaxy characters need to make frequent appearances in their Groot stories. According to Winderbaum, part of the fun of making the show was thinking about what Groot did when no one was watching. It also helps explain how the series might connect to the rest of the franchise.

“It’s fun to see what he does when no one is watching,” explained the producer. Like a real child, that’s where he gets into the most trouble – when he’s out of a parent’s eye. It’s part of the shorts you recognize, or at least I do. You look at it and I remember what it was like to be a kid, and the other side of me is, ‘Oh, being a parent is like, looking at a kid and worrying they’re going to do something terrible. ,

all five I’m Groot The shorts are streaming on Disney+.
