Elizabeth Olsen Spoofs Doctor Strange 2 Black Bolt Moment for The Tonight Show

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Star Elizabeth Olsen made a recent appearance The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon And, unfortunately for Fallon, Scarlett Witch and one particularly memorable moment from the film: her dealings with Black Bolt reappeared. In a clip shared by the show’s TikTok channel, Olsen and Fallon recreated the moment with a funny twist.

In the video, which you can watch below, Fallon stops near the Green Room where Olsen is waiting. But while talking, Fallon notes that before a show her mouth gets dry and asks for a cough drop and, Olsen, channeling her inner Scarlet Witch, glowing eyes and all, asks “What mouth?”

That’s right, she closes Fallen’s mouth like Wanda did with Black Bolt (Anson Mount) in Doctor Strange 2. Of course, it’s pretty clear that Fallon ended up with a better fate since the show went on, but that moment was a slight nod to one of the more shocking — and gruesome — moments of the film. In the film, Wanda closes Black Bolt’s mouth and well. He tries to talk and it kills him, something that ILM VFX supervisor Julian Foddy previously discussed in how it was made.

The filmmaker said, “For Black Bolt, Wanda starts with her mouth shut, or her mouth together ‘exhaling’.” “That was a CG patch that we created from the actor using texture photography. Then to create sound explosions that bounce back into his head, and effectively scratch his brain, blowing off the back of his skull.” Previously, the way we approached him was almost to do it realistically.”

As for Olsen, she doesn’t know that a return as Wanda is in the cards for her, but she told Fallon that she, jokingly, wants to “intimidate” fans into bringing her back to Marvel.

“I hope so,” Olson said. “They don’t tell me anything about my fate. No. I don’t know. I should come back. But, really I don’t know. I want fans to be so aggressive and intimidate them to do that or something.” . I mean, it’s not really a good way to do anything. I take it back. No one needs to use force.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesss is now streaming on Disney+.
