The streets of New York City turned into a stage for the unexpected this past weekend. On Saturday, October 25, Oscar-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg brought his on-screen magician persona, J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas, to life with two surprise pop-up magic shows. The events, held at Hudson Yards and Tompkins Square Park, were designed to promote the highly anticipated third installment of the Now You See Me franchise.

The secret wasn’t kept for long. Simple white flyers teasing the event began circulating on social media, drawing large crowds of curious onlookers and devoted fans eager to witness the spectacle.

A Trick Up His Sleeve and a Surprise for Fans

Joined by professional magician Noah Levine, Eisenberg did more than just meet expectations. The 42-year-old actor engaged the audience with impressive card tricks, including one stunning illusion where he made a chosen card reappear under a fan’s watch. The crowd’s shocked reaction was captured in a video that quickly made rounds online.

But the real magic was yet to come. After the trick, Eisenberg revealed the ultimate surprise. “All the cards Noah gave out, those are actually tickets,” he announced to the cheering crowd. “You are going to be the very first people to see Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.” For those who didn’t get a ticket, exclusive merchandise, including shirts and posters, was also available.

The Horsemen Ride Again

Eisenberg is reprising a role he has called his “absolute favorite character to play.” He returns alongside the original Four Horsemen, including Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco. The new film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, will also introduce a new generation of illusionists played by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt.

Isla Fisher, 49, shared her excitement about the new cast members, stating they “bring this great energy” and “shake things up in the best possible way.”
