Eagle-Eyed Marvel Fan Notices When America Chavez Stole Sling Ring From Doctor Strange

Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Available to stream, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have plenty of time to watch whatever easter eggs they can find in the never-ending hunt on the Sam Raimi flick frame-by-frame. When it comes to an eagle-eyed MCU fan, that means pinning down the exact moment Xochital Gomez (America Chavez) stole the sling ring of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

While it’s not immediately clear whether she took the teleportation device while the movie was going at full speed, there is a moment when the magician is questioning the dimension-hopping teen and the ring is clear in her hand with the strange one none the wiser. can be conspicuously seen. See still for yourself below.

“The really amazing thing about her is that in the MCU version of America, she’s 14 and I was 14 when I shot it,” Gomez previously told People about her role. “So [I was literally] playing my age and it’s really a big deal because [a lot] Adolescents do not feel represented because [there are] 20-year-olds playing 15-year-olds.” She continued, “Which I also loved [about playing America] Is he resilient and he is charismatic… even though literally, the whole world is against him, he is hopeful and you want to root for him. It’s a really positive representation for Latins and teenagers.”

“I think when people watch a movie, as it is in life, it’s not a single thing that defines any one character,” Kevin Feige added at a press conference. “As Xochital put it, she is a 14-year-old girl who is realizing this very painful element of her life, which is not an LGBTQ issue, is the fact that she is tossed around the multiverse multiple too many times. To be true to her and showcase her, and that’s not what the movie is about, but it’s an important part of her character that she becomes in the comics. We wanted to touch on that.”
