Clay County, Fla. – More than 20,000 customers were without electricity on Friday morning, according to Clay Electric Cooperative Outage Map.
The outage map indicates that 23,772 customers were affected at 6:30 a.m. with more than 22,000 people in Clay County.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has posted on its Facebook page that U.S. 17 and CR220 traffic lights are causing power outages, and motorists are urged to exercise caution when traveling at intersections.
A spokesman for Clay Electric said the outage was caused by a transmission line and that many crews were trying to resolve the issue.
Clay Electric’s outage map shows 22,724 services affected. The outage is also causing problems at large intersections.
