ET’s Deidre Behar spoke with Krakow and co-star Chris McNeely about returning for a 10th season, and both expressed their gratitude for reaching the milestone.
“I feel so grateful. I’m really happy. I’m so proud, excited to be spending more time in Hope Valley with all the people I really care about,” Krakow said. “And it’s just mind-blowing to think about a decade When the heart calls It really is so wonderful. I am very happy.”
“It’s a nice milestone. I’m very happy to be a part of it,” McNally said. “I would say I don’t think I’ve earned it because I’ve only been there since Season 6, so I’m happy in five years. Have been there since the beginning. I think it’s a very special achievement. Not many shows can say they’ve come that far, so I’m happy to be a part of it. And Hope Valley He has a lot more to tell. So as long as they keep giving us opportunities, you have to keep going.”
Krakow said she personally looks forward to “more feel-good stories” in Season 10. “I know they really resonate for the heartfelt — sweet moments with the kids at school or little jacks, gentle, romantic moments.”
McNally shared that he’s excited about “discovering” Elizabeth and Lucas’ relationship, now that they’re on their way to marriage.
“The family dynamic is there and what does Lucas look like as a father? What does marriage look like? After you’re married and committed to each other, are there obstacles you need to overcome that you don’t already see? It’ll be fun to explore and I don’t know what the writers have in mind, but I’m excited to see it,” he said, adding that even those entering a new decade in Hope Valley find the story interesting. “We’re also moving into the 1920s and exploring a new decade – the Roaring Twenties. And I think that in itself is another character element that would be really fun to play with.”
