A nominated political prisoner

One of the curiosities, certainly not happy, of this delivery of the Latin Grammy, is that never in the history of the awards had there been a political prisoner among the nominees, as happens on this occasion with the rapper Maykel Castillo, artistically known as “El Osorbo”, who for the night of the delivery will carry six months in prison for his activism against the Cuban regime.

Osorbo is nominated with Eliecer Márquez Duany, known as “El Funky”, Yotuel, Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno for his song Homeland and Life. The Funky managed to leave Cuba and will be in Las Vegas with his companions to sing the song on the gala stage.
