Wendy Williams’ marital status is being questioned. In a recent report, Hollywood Openof Jason Lee claimed that Williams told her she was married to an NYPD officer named Henry. As news of Williams’ alleged marriage spread, her manager William Selby denied in a statement to ET that her client had tied the knot.
“That’s wrong,” Selby says of Williams being married. “She’s excited about a new relationship and may have faded away in conversation. Wendy doesn’t want to reveal details at this time.”
“Wendy is excited to try everything new in her life and her main priority is her health and shooting the first episode of her podcast,” he says. “That’s the focus right now. You never know when it comes to matters of the heart that anything is serious until it’s serious.”
However, after Lee posted audio From a phone call on Instagram with Williams, in which she insisted that he was in fact married.
“Everyone seems to have a problem with this,” Williams said of tying the knot candidly. “I’m married. I’m married. I don’t care who knows it.”
Williams also clapped at Selby’s statement, with Lee saying in their phone conversation, “I don’t mean to get married, but f**k Will.”
In a follow-up statement to ET, Selby denied Lee’s claim during a phone call that he was driving Lee “crazy” by refusing to marry Williams.
“Nobody is trying to show Jason that he lacks credibility, that’s never my intention,” Selby said. “I only answered one question I was asked. As I said earlier, the focus is on Wendy’s health and preparation for shooting the podcast.”
Williams has been married twice before, from 1994 to 1995 to Burt Girigori, and from 1997 to 2019, to Kevin Hunter. She shares a 21-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr., with her second husband.
