Vanessa’s latest post comes the same week that she and Kobe’s daughters participated in the reveal of the new mural and basketball court dedicated to Kobe and their daughter Gianna in their hometown of Philadelphia.

In an effort to make basketball more accessible to children, Dream Courts, in partnership with Nancy Lieberman Charities and Vanessa’s Mamba and Mambasita Sports Foundation, mural painted at Tustin Playground is the latest Kobe and Gianna-dedicated basketball court . So that children can get a safe environment to play.

“Philadelphia is where my husband’s love of basketball began. Today, thanks to generous contributions from donors, fans and friends, our foundation @mambamambacitasports joins @nlcharities 2✨ and @dream_courts at the historic Tustin Playground. Khloe, beautifully surrounded by @Art_by_Ernel’s artwork,” she wrote.

“I chose this location so that the youth of this community can have a safe place to play with equal opportunity which was important to Kobe and Gianna,” Vanessa, pictured wearing Kobe’s high school varsity jacket, shared. “We’re grateful to the City of Philadelphia, @muralarts, for welcoming this project and helping make it a reality.”

The court was decorated with purple and yellow, which are the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, and featured a series of photos of Kobe and Gianna in uniform, and posing together during a basketball game. The court also displayed a painting of Kobe and Gigi’s jersey numbers, 24 and 2.

Vanessa has been keeping Kobe and Gianna’s legacy alive since their death in 2020, ensuring that their joint mission of equality in sport continues and is practiced through the Mamba and Mambasita Sports Organization.
