Many will remember the actor Val kilmer embodying Jim Morrison in the movie of Oliver Stone’s The Doors or as Batman, A role that earned him respect in the film industry and positioned him as one of Hollywood’s leading men in the 90s.

But not everything was rosy for Val kilmer, years later he became ill with throat cancer and had to be exposed to numerous treatments to save his life.

Now, Val Kilmer is 61 years oldsy will tell his life through a documentary composed mainly of home videos. The documentary is simply titled “Val” and will be directed by Leo Scott and Ting Poo.

The documentary will present the different facets of Kilmer, as a movie star, cancer survivor, and thus will also give an insight into the intimate life of the actor.

“For more than 40 years, Val Kilmer, one of the most fickle and misunderstood actors in Hollywood, he has documented his own life and craft through films and videos, ”says a statement from the production company.

“With thousands of hours of footage, from 16mm home movies made with his brothers, to his time in iconic roles for blockbuster movies like Top Gun, The Doors, Tombstone and Batman Forever,” he adds.

By the way, the documentary “Val” was presented at the Cannes Film Festival and he won the ovation of the public for how well he is doing.

“This raw, wildly original and unshakable documentary reveals a life lived to the extreme and a heartfelt, sometimes hilarious look at what it means to be an artist and a complex man,” the statement said.

The documentary “Val” will be released simultaneously in all countries through Amazon Prime and August 6 will be the date when we can see this extraordinary work of Val Kilmer.
