It wouldn’t be a real Thanksgiving without the Pearsons.

NBC has released the trailer for the sixth and final season of This is us on Thursday, which officially marks the start of the drama series’ farewell tour. The last 16 episodes are slated to premiere Tuesday, January 4th at 9 p.m. ET / PT and run continuously, except for two weeks in February due to the Winter Olympics until the series finale in May.

In the newly released two-minute trailer, which includes key scenes from the last five seasons as well as new footage, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) admits she’s gradually losing her memory.

“Sometimes I think of what my very last memory will be before the candle goes out,” she says at a vulnerable moment. “I don’t know how long I’ll have before it gets worse, so I remembered every little detail. I just wish I could let time stand still. “

“I’m not worried about forgetting the big things, it’s the little things that I don’t want to let go,” admits Rebecca.

Later, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) tells Rebecca that it is time for her kids – the big three – to make their own memories. “The children are old enough to have memories – important things that they will remember for the rest of their lives,” he says.

“Until the day is over, there’s always a chance you might remember it for something else. This is how we will remember it, “says Rebecca and closes the trailer.
