‘The Music Man’ Sutton Foster Announces He Tested Positive for COVID-19, Will Miss Performance

Sutton Foster has to stop the music! On Sunday, the actress shared that she tested positive for COVID-19. “Hello everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that this morning, I tested positive for COVID,” the 47-year-old actress told the camera in a video posted on her Instagram.

“And I’m so sad I won’t be able to be at Music Man even for a while. But my incredible understanding is that Audrey Cardwell and Kathy Woutko will take over the fort with Mr. Hugh Jackman as Marion Paru.”

She continued: “I just send all my love to the winter garden and to all of you. Stay healthy, stay safe and see you soon.”

Foster reiterated his message in a caption next to the video. Hugh Jackman, who played Harold Hill on the Broadway show, took to the comments to support his leading lady. “Let the countdown to your comeback begin,” he wrote.

Foster’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis comes just weeks after Jackman confirmed that he would have to take time off from the show following his positive diagnosis. “I have tested positive for Covid disappointingly. Again,” the 53-year-old captioned his video.
