After weeks of contemplating it and withdrawing from the trial, Pedro has made his decision. In this exclusive clip from Monday’s episode Family ChantelPedro tells Chantel that he wants a divorce.
“I try to isolate here in one roof,” Pedro tells Chantel. “Things haven’t turned out as well as I expected because you didn’t respect my place.”
“I know I didn’t respect your space,” agrees Chantel.
At the end of his rope, an angry Pedro said it bluntly to Chantel, “I want my divorce.”
Pedro and Chantel have been fighting throughout the season, so their split comes as no surprise to the audience or Chantel’s family, although it caught Chantel off guard a bit.
“I didn’t expect you to say you wanted a divorce from me,” Chantal says. “I really just wanted to know if you value this marriage and want to work on it, and the answer is ‘no’. So, we have nothing more to discuss.”
Chantel walks away, admitting that their marriage is over – though doubts over Pedro’s allegiance still weigh on her mind.
Before getting emotional, Pedro tells the camera, “All love is gone. There’s nothing left.” “It’s very, you know, it’s like Jesus — you feel pain in your chest. You feel these things in your chest, like you say, ‘Goddamn it.’
Pedro filed for divorce from Chantel in May, and the two filed restraining orders against each other. In response to Chantel’s filing for Pedro’s divorce, she made explosive allegations, citing the reason for the divorce as adultery on her part. She accused him of “brutal behavior,” “physical domestic violence, as well as mental agony.” In court documents, she said that “the marriage is completely broken and there is no hope of reconciliation.”
Family Chantel Airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
