'The Bachelor' Premiere Recap: Clayton's First Rose Is Rejected In Dramatic Premiere

Clayton Echard was turned down before the limo driveways even began. The 26th season premiered on Monday The bachelor, The 28-year-old medical sales rep met a snafu while handing out his first rose, recovered to make some connections, and had to send a woman home early, which ET breaks down in the following summary.

The season began with Clayton giving fans a glimpse into his small Midwestern town before heading to Los Angeles to play his 31 possible games. An ICU nurse, maiden, and former pageant queen were some of the great hopes, but it was a previously engaged surgical robot that caused the first drama of the season.

Next up was a rose rejection and limo driveways that included everything from an urn to a snake to a bubble bath. While many of the women were delighted with the new bachelor’s degree, the same cannot be said of a woman who dropped out after some shocking comments before the rose ceremony.

In the end, Clayton made some connections and was left with 22 women on his love journey.

Get to know your new bachelor’s degree

Clayton’s love journey began with a visit to his hometown of Eureka, Missouri, where he pleased his mother with the news that he was elected to be the next bachelor. His election as the next franchise leader, Clayton admitted in a confessional, was far from expected.

“You’re probably wondering why I’m the bachelor after just getting eight minutes of screen timeThe Bachelorette“He said of his time on the Michelle Young season. “It’s because I honestly believe in this process, I think more than anyone. I know that I can find my wife here. I know this works. I am so humble to be the bachelor. I’m just a Midwestern guy who doesn’t really like the spotlight. ”

However, with the entirety of his 10,000-inhabitant city behind him, Clayton said he was ready to embark on this journey.

“I have a great life, but when I started feeling that spark in Michelle, I realized how much I miss love,” he said. “… I’m ready for this lifelong commitment to get married and have children, it’s so exciting.”

A rejected rose

As for the women vying for his heart, there’s Shanae, a “competitive” small-town girl from Ohio, Gabby, an NFL cheerleader turned critical care nurse, Susie, a former Miss Virginia, and Teddi, a virgin.

And then there’s Salleywhose job is listed as “previously employed”. Sally told the cameras that a “lack of trust” led to the end of their engagement, which would culminate in a wedding that was due to take place on the exact weekend she arrived to start filming The bachelor.

The timing of their arrival in Los Angeles left Salley in such an emotional state that she visited Clayton to discuss the situation five hours before the rose ceremony. In tears, Salley told a surprised Clayton about the situation, admitting, “I thought I was ready to do something like this and I don’t know if my heart is ready.”

Clayton responded by telling her that he had a similar experience that left him “closed for years”. He didn’t want this to happen to Salley, so he dared and offered her a rose. Although Salley felt a connection, he chose to reject the rose and told him, “My heart just isn’t able” to move forward.

The early exit had been “difficult” for Clayton, who admitted in a confessional that “rejection” was one of his “greatest fears”.

Unforgettable first impressions

The limo driveways did not disappoint, as Lyndsey W. punctuated Clayton’s size, Susie shocked him to demonstrate her “electricity”, and Clayton “somehow” felt “kind of” Teddi’s idea.

Other memorable appearances included Melina in moon shoes, Jill presenting the ashes of her exes to Clayton, and a 63-year-old retiree who served as the “wing woman” for pilot Rachel.

Ivana kept her mother during her entry, while Doctor delighted Kira in red lingerie and a white smock and told Gabby Clayton that she would like to “sit on your face”. Clayton was also whipped in the bum by Elizabeth, gifted a snake by Hunter, and introduced to Samantha in a bathtub.

After Clayton met Shanae, the last woman from the limousine, he toasted his suitors and told them, “I want to get down on one knee in the end.”

One woman says she “hated” Clayton

After good conversations with Susie and Elizabeth, Clayton shared his first kiss as a Bachelor with Teddi, which made him feel “on cloud nine”. Kira, Eliza, and Cassidy also got kisses before it got dramatic.

While Clayton sat on a tailgate with Claire, it seemed to be amusing playing cornhole, eating wings, and laughing. But it got uncomfortable when Mara showed up to interrupt her and Clayton left the makeshift date against Claire’s request.

As Clayton was enjoying his time with Mara, Claire went inside and started expressing her negative feelings towards the Bachelor. She told some of the girls that Clayton was “100 percent too nice” for them.

“I can’t be with America’s darling,” Claire said to someone else before telling another person that she “hated” the medical sales rep.

Serene briefed Clayton of Claire’s comments, and the Bachelor wasted no time clarifying the situation. While speaking with Clayton, Claire denied hating him and instead said that they just didn’t “click”. Clayton responded by sending Claire home.

The first impression rose

Clayton didn’t let the Claire situation spoil the night, however. Instead, he bonded with Genevieve through her parents’ successful relationships and planned a skydive with Rachel before deciding to give Teddi the first impression.

“I couldn’t get you out of my head all night,” he said to Teddi before they shared another kiss. “I’ll think about that kiss for a while,” he admitted in a confession.

At the rose ceremony, Clayton awarded Serene, Susie, Eliza, Rachel, Ecy, Sarah, Kate, Cassidy, Elizabeth, Kira, Shanae, Sierra, Mara, Marlena, Genevieve, Melina, Gabby, Jill, Lyndsey W., Hunter, and Rosen Tessa.

Daria, Hailey, Ivana, Jane, Lindsay D., Rianna and Samantha were less fortunate and were sent home.

Clayton is “broken” in the dramatic preview

While the first rose ceremony ended with the women toasting each other for their support, this good mood won’t last long.

“You’re wrong. You have two faces. I’m done,” one woman tells the other at the beginning of a dramatic, sobbing preview.

Serene seems to be at the center of the drama as a woman claims she “plays him and she plays us”. She isn’t the only person in the hot seat as a woman has been accused of having an ongoing friendship relationship.

“Did you see anyone until you got here?” Clayton at one point asks Shanae what leads her to tell a woman to “keep my name out of your damn mouth”.

Susie seems to hang around for quite a while after telling Clayton, “I’m falling in love with you,” to which he replies, “Oh, I’m so happy.” Rachel also captures emotions and says to Clayton, “The more time I spend with you, the more you check each box.” Yet another woman is shown professing her love for Clayton, whereupon he admits, “I think she might very well be the right one.”

All of which is to say that Clayton falls in love with his last three wives. In fact, he seems to be telling Gabby, “I couldn’t be more certain that I’m in love with you.” Serene seems to get a similar statement when he says, “It’s not about me falling in love with you anymore, I’m in love with you.”

Clayton is intimate with his last three wives, which he confesses during a long-rushed rose ceremony.

“He’s in love with all three of us? What the hell?” asks Gabby.

“I’m so broken,” Clayton admits, before calming down and looking forward to a suggestion. “I believe that everything happens for a reason and what should be, will be. There is hope here in this ring.”
