Teresa Giudice doesn’t let anyone hurt her luck. the Real New Jersey housewives Star rides the high from her engagement to Luis “Louie” Ruelas last month, despite the onslaught of negative press that came shortly thereafter.
“I say, ‘Please take care of your business,’” Teresa writes to the haters via video chat with ET. “You should want someone to be happy because if you want someone else to be happy, happiness comes to you. That’s what it’s about me. I’m not about ever hurting someone or knocking them down or anything like that. And listen, I know people make all these judgments and say all these things about him on social media. As if he wanted to be on TV. So he doesn’t want to be on TV. So it’s not his thing. If anything, he supports me, but it really isn’t his thing. And the craziest things they say like he planned to meet me that day. No, he didn’t even know who I was and he had never been to the Jersey Shore before, this was his first time. And it’s crazy. “
Teresa and Louie, an entrepreneur, met in the summer of 2020 on a fateful trip to the Jersey Shore, on a street where Teresa once prayed to her late parents to send her a good man. When their romance became public (and with it public fodder), followers dug into Louie’s past to re-emerge unproven (and even debunked) allegations against his character.
“I wish people would just leave us alone,” she says. “Anyone who is negative please leave us alone. Because first of all, they will never destroy our happiness, just leave it at that. It will never happen. And I’m a very strong, strong individual. If that doesn’t everyone know who I am it. And if they knock me down, I’ll get up right again. “
“He’s new to all of this, to public scrutiny, which is sad, and that’s something he hasn’t signed up for,” notes Teresa. “He just signed up, he met me, we fell in love and that was it. And I feel bad, so I’ll do anything to protect him.”
“I said to him, ‘Just follow my example. I have you,'” she jokes after learning how to navigate ‘the blogs’ and beyond on reality TV for the past 12 years. It remains to be seen whether Teresa and Louie will become engaged on April 12. RHONJIt’s slated to premiere in 2022 when it went down after filming a season teased as a blowout season. However, cameras captured the sweet moment that unfolded on a trip to Greece with Teresa’s close pal (and former co-star), Dina Cantin (nee Manzo) and her husband Dave.
“I was totally surprised,” says Teresa of Louie, who asked the question. “It was supposed to happen at the end of September. We were supposed to go to Capri and St. Tropez and then they closed Italy, so he rescheduled the trip to Greece. And yes, it was so busy. We moved in together. I mean, listen to, he kept telling me, ‘I can’t wait for you to be my wife.’ But that’s it. I’m not the type to ask for anything. I always think it should be the guy.
“So I had no idea,” she continues. “I was totally surprised. It was absolutely amazing. I was impressed. I just didn’t know where to look first. It was just so magical. It was really magical.”
Teresa says every step in this relationship felt right, knowing early on that one day she would be Mrs. Louie Ruelas.
“He’s a Taurus like me, we’re so much alike,” she admits. “Even my daughter Gia says so. They all say so. Like, ‘You are so very in sync with each other.’ We are that. We both like the same things. Do you know how to say: “Opposites attract?” Well, not with us. I don’t like the opposite. We both understand each other. We are both the same person. We like the same things. And he just understands me, I understand him. I love the way he speaks. the way he is, his heart, his mannerisms. He’s a gentleman. He knows how to treat a woman. “
That’s on full display The ultimate housewife girls’ journey, the new all-star mash-up show starring Teresa on the side Housewives from all over the country: Beverly Hills‘Kyle Richards, Atlanta‘s Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore, New York City‘s Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer, and New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga, who is of course also Teresa’s sister-in-law. The premiere episode began with Louie giving Teresa eight handwritten love letters, one to open each day while she was on vacation.
“He always gives me cards, and I love that, and I give him cards back,” shares Teresa. “So we always give each other cards. He always writes me the most beautiful letters and notes, and he sends me the best texts. And I think, ‘Oh my god. Now I have to write back to him! ‘ He’s just so perfect with his words and then I just think, ‘Oh my’ God. ‘ He always takes me right into my heart. He’s amazing, he really is. I am so happy to have it. And I really feel like my parents brought him to me because he– I don’t know what’s perfect, but in my eyes he’s pretty perfect. “
“He’s great with my daughters,” she enthuses. “I mean, I could go on and on. He’s a great father.”
The two live together in the Garden State and prepare for the vacation as a big blended family.
“We just got engaged so I just enjoy being engaged and we just moved in so I literally left the box open,” admits Teresa. “And now it’s the holidays. He says, ‘Babe, I can’t wait to decorate.’ Christmas is his favorite holiday and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, we’ve just unpacked and now we need to decorate the whole house ?!’ But Christmas is his favorite holiday. He says, ‘Babe, I really want to decorate’ and I’m ‘OK’. So that’s next. “
With a recent move and Christmas on the horizon, wedding planning is on hold until 2022. For now, Teresa is focused on the experience that was Ultimate girls trip, a kind of trial by fire when it came to filming with open eyes RHONY Upper floor Ramona.
“Ramona comes into play with a lot of people,” teases Teresa. “I can’t wait for you guys to watch and see how it turns out.”
However, Ramona’s first target was definitely Teresa. Before the trip began, she called Kyle for advice on how to deal with the RHONJ Star whom she compared to Scarecrow The Wizard of Ozbecause she has no brain. This dig found its way through the grapevine to Teresa, who pointed it out to Ramona and left the newly minted broker in an apology.
“I was shocked to hear what Ramona had to say about me because it’s like you never judge a book by its cover or whatever,” says Teresa. “People like to say whatever they want to say, but you really should get to know a person first before you judge that person.
Teresa hopes Ramona “learned many lessons” on this trip, the most important of which is “cheering each other up”.
“I can’t wait for you to watch her eat her words,” cooed Teresa. There’s a moment teased in the trailer when Teresa Ramona’s own words (to some extent) turn against her; Famous for saying: “I support other women”, Teresa says to Ramona, “You are not a girl”.
“I’m just talking about how I feel,” Teresa says of the exchange. “I never have ulterior motives and try to hurt someone. I’m not a vengeful person. I just am not. Usually I speak the truth and how I feel, I say that. But neither of us is perfect. Listen, we don’t always say the right thing, but that’s how I felt. That’s the mood she gave me, and that’s why I said that. “
Teresa likes “Like” [Ramona] a lot “after the vacation. In fact, she says she hooked up with everyone in the cast, including Melissa, despite the moments in the premiere that caught viewers’ eye: For one, she emphatically tells producers that her sister-in-law isn’t counts as “OG” and two, didn’t seem thrilled when Melissa asked Teresa if she was excited about going on the trip with her.
“What should I do? Jump up and down? ‘Oh yeah, I’m so excited!'” She cracks and continues, she was enjoys spending time with her family.
“No, listen, she is my sister-in-law,” says Teresa. “The thing is, I would have wanted to go with someone I hit it off with, and that would be either Melissa, Dolores [Catania], Jennifer [Aydin]. These are my girls And of course Melissa is my sister-in-law, and I’m sure they picked her because she’ll be there the longest next. “
As for the friendships she left Turks and Caicos with, Teresa praises the women of The real housewives of Atlanta.
“I would say I’ve bonded with Cynthia the most,” she shares. “[And] I have to say love Kenya. She was behind me from day one. And what I have to say about that is, that’s pretty amazing. We met once at a work event and I think we got together at that work event and that she has my back – and I can’t wait for you to see how it goes – that she has my back, me was so touched. I really was. I was so touched because I thought, ‘Wow, this is a stranger who has my back.’ She met me once, we connected and she stood up for me. And I just thought ‘wow’. “
“I never had that on jersey“adds Teresa.” So someone who really stands up for me, because I always have to look after myself, because everyone here always comes up to me. And I’m all about loyalty and respect. I am very tall there. So Kenya, I have to say, it’s pretty amazing. And I have her back for a lifetime because I never forget that. “
The ultimate housewives’ girls trip is now streaming Peacock, with new episodes premiering on Thursdays.
