‘Stranger Things’: will season 5 have new characters? This is what the creators say

The fourth season of stranger things has been a total success around the world, either because of its history, its characters, or the setting focused on the 80’s. The Duffer brothers, together with Netflix, have found the perfect formula to make one of the most successful series of all time.

The arrival of new characters, such as Max, in the third seasoneither Eddie and Chrissy in the fourth, have been a phenomenon for both the public and the entertainment industry. This can be verified with the recent participation of Joseph Quinn in one of the Metallica shows.

Fans of the series have loved the inclusion of new characters, however, the Duffer brothers made a statement that might not be to everyone’s liking.

The fifth season of stranger things might not include new characters

In an interview for the media IndieWire, Matt and Ross Duffer expressed the decision not to include more characters for what will be the last season of stranger things. This decision is justified because they want to focus on the stories of the existing characters.

“We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the original characters,” they responded when asked about integrating more characters.

The statement makes some sense, since the fourth season was the longest so far and in recent days they have shown intentions to make a shorter one.

For many fans of the series, the idea of not integrating new characters could be something strange, however, the Duffer brothers declare they will have more stories to tell about Eleven and company.

“We want to give them their moments and a lot of them have evolved over these four seasons, so it will be five seasons for them,” they said.

The fifth season of stranger things no release date yet officialbut it is expected to arrive sometime in 2023.
