Dominika Paleta starts the year with a premiere
MEXICO CITY – Dominika Paleta said goodbye to 2021 and received in horror in 2022 with the premiere of the film “Karem, the Possession” by director Henry Bedwell. After a forced wait for Covid-19, the tape is already in the cinemas.
“I’m very scared,” the actress admitted in an interview with Reforma newspaper.
“I prefer psychological terror like ‘The Others’ (with Nicole Kidman) and when I read the script for ‘Karem …’ I liked that this line was handled,” commented Dominika, the Mariana, the protagonist’s mother , plays.
Set in the 1980s, the real-life-inspired film tells of the obsession of a young woman able to control everyone around her.
The cast, also made up of Miranda Kay, Raquel Rodríguez and Daniel Martínez, worked under the staging of Rigoberto Castañeda in early 2019 and waited until December 30, 2021 to reach the billboard.
If there is one thing Dominika Paleta doesn’t like about horror films, it’s that they have been dismembered, that makes it bad and even has nightmares, but she assures that “this film is very worth it”.
The Polish-born actress pointed out that the big risk with horror tapes is that if they are poorly made, they will look “cheesy”.
“Karem, Possession” is a story based on real events.
“I found it interesting to make a historical film because it reminded me of things I went through.”
The film was shot in Durango, in a house where Karem’s family (Raquel Rodríguez) lived. It was previously a funeral home and although Dominika did not experience any supernatural events, she preferred to always be surrounded by her companions.
Dominika hopes that 2022 will be a good year for her career as she is looking forward to several film and television premieres.
“2021 was a good year for me, I can’t complain. I can only be grateful, although it was a very difficult year, I am grateful that I had a job, that my family is united and healthy ”.
“There are three premieres of television series I’ve made and a comedy that is also about to be released,” he said.
His goal is not to make plans and make life a little easier than in previous years.
“I don’t want to have any expectations, I want to have more peace and quiet, to get things as they come without planning too much.”
