Shawn Mendes is ‘Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile’ in first trailer

The trailer begins with Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke” playing out loud as Lyle sings from above. If CGI Croc’s voice sounds familiar, that’s because it’s from Shawn Mendes.

Based on the book series by Bernard Waber, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile Tells the story of the Prime family – played by Constance Wu, Scooter McNairy and Winslow Feglie – who begin a new chapter in New York City.

His son has trouble adjusting to his new life. But things take a turn when he learns that he befriends Lyle, a crocodile living in his attic who loves music, caviar and bathing.

As the family begins to adjust to life with Lyle, the alligator’s existence is threatened by the family’s neighbor, Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman), and he is taken over by Lyle’s owner, Hector P. Valenti (Javier Bardem) to prove that music can unite all, and that family can come from the most unexpected places.

Mendes not only voices Lyle, but also performs original songs written by Benz Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriters behind it. the greatest showman, On Wednesday, the 23-year-old “Stitches” singer celebrated the trailer release.
