Rage Against the Machine cancels its entire European tour

Rage Against The Machine has been forced to cancel their upcoming datess on tour in the UK and Europe.

The band returned to action last month after an absence of 11 years, kicking off a tour of North America with Run The Jewels which was originally due to start in March 2020.

Nevertheless, during the second show of the rescheduled tour in Chicago on July 11, frontman Zack de la Rocha injured his leg midway through the performance. Since then, de la Rocha has continued to tour with RATM, although he has been sitting on stage while performing during each subsequent concert.

On the afternoon of August 11, the band confirmed that, due to the “medical guidance”, de la Rocha has been advised not to proceed further beyond his run of dates at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which concludes on Sunday, August 14.

This means that RATM’s upcoming UK and European tour dates, which included a couple of headlining slots at Reading & Leeds next month, have been cancelled.

“It is with great disappointment that we announce this cancellation,” the band said in their statement. “Zack needs to go home to rest and rehab. The flights, travel time and rigorous schedule in the UK and Europe are simply too great a risk for a full recovery. We feel sorry for all our fans who have waited years to see us, and we hope to return to rage soon.”

These are the canceled dates:

August 24 – Royal Highlands Centre, Edinburgh

August 26 – Leeds Festival, Leeds

August 28 – Festival of Reading, Reading

August 30 – Rock en Seine Festival, Paris, France

September 1 – Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium

September 3 – Expo Plaza, Hannover, Germany

September 5 – Hallenstadion, Zurich, Switzerland

September 8 – Andalusia Big Festival – Sacaba Beach, Malaga, Spain

September 10 – Mad Cool Sunset – Espacio Mad Cool, Madrid, Spain

September 13 – Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria

September 15 – Tauron Arena, Krakow, Poland

September 17 – Zagreb Arena, Zagreb, Croatia

September 19 – O2 Arena, Prague, Czech Republic

LRATM’s next scheduled tour dates are scheduled to begin in February 2023, and the North American run will last until early April 2023.
