Pure folklore, a free activity in the city

Within the framework of the NochesBA, the City of Buenos Aires will celebrate, this Saturday, July 30, starting at 8:00 p.m., La Noche de las Peñas. For the first time, 20 spaces will open their doors for free for residents and tourists to enjoy special programming dedicated to regional culture.

The 20 spaces were chosen after a call process that was open from July 4 to 11 and received financial support for the development of a special program for the Night of the Peñas.

At Café Vinilo you can see a concert by Hernan Robledo while in Luzuriaga Club Social there will be a folklore show by the El Cruce group, and in Folklorazo Queer there will be classes and a dance and live music show, among other events that are part of the program.

In addition, on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., there will be a preview of what will be La Noche de las Peñas within the framework of the Rural Exhibition with the presentation of a capsule of Los Pampas, a group made up of five young people from Buenos Aires. their interpretations gather the rhythms of the Pampas region along with sounds from different corners of the country.

Two couples from Flor de Ceibo, a ballet originally from Merlo (Buenos Aires), finalist of the Pre-Cosquín in the Folkloric Dance Ensemble category (representing CABA), and recreationists from the Esgrima Criolla group, formed in 2004, will also participate in the show.

“In each peña that is celebrated, we Argentines value the immense size and depth of our regional cultures. The folk clubs allow us to meet and enjoy a show that connects us with our roots. That is why it is a pride to be able to celebrate them in the City”, expressed the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta.

Along the same lines, the Minister of Culture of the City, Henry Avogadro explained: “This initiative has the objective of support the cultural sector and integrate spaces dedicated to folklore with the public so that they form, based on this initiative of the Ministry of Culture, a circuit that is the basis of a cultural industry”.

“We want this Night of the Rocks to be projected from and to the provinces, thus also promoting access to culture,” he added. In this regard, the person in charge of Special Projects of the Vice-chief of the City, Veby Martínez, said: “The Night of Las Peñas is a perfect combination of a NocheBA: music, food and tradition in one place.”

These are the 20 peñas that will be part of the BA Nights and will have special programming and free access this Saturday, July 30.

Coffee Vinyl (United States 2483) with a concert by Hernán Robledo, a native of Chilecito (La Rioja).

Luzuriaga Social Club (Luzuriaga 348), with Luzu’s Courtyardfolklore show with Daniel Laham (accordion, bandoneon and voice) and his group El Cruce on a journey along the path of popular folklore.

Paramo Culture (Av. Carlos Calvo 3974), with the Peña folklórica Achalay with Lxs Ábalos Latidos de Adolfo, from Santiago del Estero. In addition, there will be a folk dance class, practice, show and dance.

Urban Track Civil Association (Chacabuco 874), with El Rejunte with Jorge Sábato, Rodolfo Farías and Cristian Santibáñez. Néstor Tomassini and Juan Juncales will participate as guests.

Chimera, art for good living (Tres Arroyos 402), with live music of the folkloric genre with accompaniment and encouragement to dance by Verde Ruderal.

Queer Folklore (Av. Boedo 830), will offer dance classes and live dance and music shows. Folklore in Transition, Saraza, LeGon Queen, Agustín Justin, Damante and Pluridiversa Folklore Collective participate.

Richard’s Rock (Lavalle 3073), with a folk music show and traditional dance workshop by Analía Basualdo and band.

The Cultural Quince (Av. Corrientes 5426), with a concert by Rococo Ensamble, natives of Formosa.

El Zonko Space (Pavón 2552), with a concert by Grupo Tres Mundos.

archarm (Mario Bravo 441), with an exhibition of folkloric disc to pure zamba and chacarera by music of the band Latitudes Sonoras.

The Rock of Gra (Gandara 2840), with a show with a great repertoire of traditional songs and contemporary authors, in voice, guitar and percussion.

Latin American Jam (Serrano 1160), with dancing and live music.

Los Laureles Remarkable Bar (Av. Iriarte 2290), with a norteño recital by the Trío Tantay group accompanied by folklore skills. Dance, bass drum and boleadoras by the Coven Duo.

La Minga – Zamba Night (Maza 1165), with a cycle that proposes an approach to the most emblematic music of our country by Federico Pecchia and Flor Vijnovich.
