After four acclaimed seasons, ozarki Friday took its final bow, as the final episodes of the series debuted on Netflix. And, rightfully so, the crime drama left fans biting their nails until the very last minute as the Byrde family banded together to protect themselves.

While the final episode was a bloodbath for many of Byrd’s allies and foes—including Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) and Omar Navarro (Felix Solis)—it was the crime overlords from the white-collar family who stood up to the end.

In the final moments, Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) face one final threat in Mel Sattem (Adam Rothenberg), the private investigator who exposes the couple to kill Wendy’s brother, Ben (Tom Pelphrey). threatened to do so. But eventually, they keep it in the family as the Byrdes’ son, Jonah (Skylar Gartner), and daughter Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) sneak up on the mail with a shotgun. After Jonah received the slightest sinister smile from his father, the screen went black and a shot rang out.

ET’s Rachel Smith spoke with ozarki The cast was aired earlier this month at the premiere event of its final season, where Linney and Bateman opened up about their initial reaction to the series finale and what it was like to say goodbye.

“I can’t believe we all kill each other,” Bateman joked in the final moments of the show.

On a more serious note, the actor said that he appreciated that the show ended on a “smart, kind of subtle ending that suits the quality. [executive producer] Chris Mundy’s work and his staff.”

In addition to acting, Bateman also directed the final episode, which he told ET felt like a good book after the show’s four-season run.

“We started the whole thing, and to be able to cross the finish line together, it was really lucky,” he shared.

As for Linney’s reaction to the finale, she admitted, “I was really sad that it was ending.”

,[It was] A very close group … and we all knew we were in a very good position which was unusual,” she said, “so when something like this ends up, you know, it’s really an era for us.” is the end.”

So, will the pair be ready to reintroduce their characters in the future – perhaps for someone ozarki Movies?

“I’m not saying anything,” Linney said hesitantly, though Bateman had to return to his jokes.

“We all have to rise from the dead, though, to do that,” he teased. “We have to fix the bullet hole in our head.”

For now, there are memories of him — and a few mementos from the set.

“I took my wedding ring,” Linney admitted. “I collect all the wedding rings from all my cinematic weddings.”
