Back in 2020, after earning awards for igorTyler talked about how his arguably most pop-leaning effort was still placed in the rap category.

“I’m half-and-half on this one,” Tyler said. “On the one hand I’m just grateful that what I’ve created can be accepted in a world like this. But it also sucks that even when we—and I mean people who look like me—do anything that’s in style. -Bending or whatever they always put it in the rap or urban category.”

Of course, with his DJ drama joining in and a lot more rapping than his previous effort, Tyler’s call me if you get lost This year found itself in the category of true style. The drama caught on with Veno, Gia Peppers and Rob Markman as part of a livestream of the 2022 Dreamville Festival’s rotation to celebrate the win.

“Tyler, salute to the producer, he’s a genius,” he said. “To get that phone call, to be a part of history, to be a part of that album. What more for him to speak so much about me gangsta grillz For him, it’s a full-circle moment… before you tell me right now I was talking about being on stage with Young Jeezy here, how these records I was a part of and how people were 20 years ago. was brought to the fore, resonates and influences 25,000 even today. This is very polite to me. When you’re making history, you don’t even know you’re doing it.”
