Ringo Starr releases details of upcoming ‘EP3’ – Billboard

Ringo Starr is gearing up to spread a little more love in the world. The former Beatles drummer and solo star revealed over the weekend that he has come up with the best title for his upcoming 2012 sequel change the world EP.

,[The] cleverly named ep3, Featuring four brand new tracks with longtime collaborators Steve Lucather, Linda Perry, Dave Koz, Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Bruce Sugar” due out on CD and download on September 16, on cassette and vinyl in the fall, the project Announcing a statement that promises Ringo’s “instantly-recognizable vocals, feel-good lyrics and easy-going melodies”.

“I’m in my studio writing and recording every chance I get,” Starr explained in a press release. “It’s what I’ve always done and will continue to do, and releasing the EP more often allows me to stay creative and give each song a little more love.”

As a sneak peek, the 82-year-old star dropped the bouncy single “World Go Round,” a mid-tempo twirl in which peace-and-loving octopus gardeners talk about how we’re all a part of it. How are you together? “We can try to rise up / It only takes a little love / Hey, hey / We all go round the world / You’re not alone in this / We all make the world go round,” he sings of the track Optimistic chorus.

New songs, including “Everybody and Everything,” “Let’s Be Friends” and “Free Your Soul,” were recorded at Starr’s Roccabella West home studio.
