Lady Leshur wants Cardi B to give credit for ‘cheap A-weave’ sample – Billboard

lady leshurrie is calling Cardi B For the 2015 song, “Cheap A- Weave”, which contains a sample from the former’s “Queen Speech 4”.

It all started when Leshur responded to a fan on Tuesday (August 2), who tweeted the title of Cardi’s throwback track, writing, “You’re asking Cardi if she can break me up with a like [sic] Change He used my beat/idea before his big break and is now a millionaire and I am paid.

Seeing this tweet, the rapper wrote, ‘I made 2 dollars for that song… you want another dollar?’

Leshur noted that she was mostly “crazy, I had to tweet a response 4 while DMing about it years ago,” adding that the song is now on “streaming sites” and in search results before its original track. Comes, “Queen’s Speech 4.”

“I can’t find the song on Apple, but if it is on any streaming service I will make sure it is removed including YouTube. I will also make sure I send you your dollar,” Cardi concluded.

Leshur’s remarks come amid a series of artists demanding credit for their work when sampled. Just last week, Beyoncé dropped the projection caliso‘ on the 2003 hit “Milkshake” Renaissance Track “Energy” from Apple and Tidal.

Kelis noted that she came to know about interpolation “in the same way everyone else did,” suggesting that she hadn’t previously raised heads that people in the music business have “no soul or integrity”.
