Elton John took to TikTok on Monday (August 1) to share an incredible mash-up of one of his most famous songs with ABBA.

“Heard about this little mashup of Benny and the Jets with @ABBA and had to join in,” he captioned the video, adding the hashtag “#piano #bennieandthejets #abba #eltonjohn #remix #pop #chiquitita”.

The stitched clip begins with ABBA’s Benny Andersson sitting at the piano, who plays the iconic intro to ABBA’s “Chiquitita” before cutting to Sir Elton, who plays “Benny and the Jets” before flashing the camera. Let’s launch in the equally recognizable introduction. smile

The Swedish foursome aren’t just musical legends, the “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” singer is collaborating with both; Rumor has it that he recorded a new duet version of his 1971 single “Tiny Dancer” with Britney Spears. The track’s existence has not yet been confirmed by any of the artists, but if ever they decide to release it to the public, the single will mark the princess of pop’s official return to music as avoiding the confines of legal guardianship. Since then every aspect of it was controlled. Life and career for 13 years.

Meanwhile, John — who played his final New York-area show at the end of last month as part of his ongoing (and expanded) Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour — also pulled off his latest earnings call at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards last week. History made. Along with fellow nominee Madonna, the star also has the distinction of being nominated at the first VMAs in 1984.
