Drake sings ‘I’m Like a Bird’ with Nelly Furtado in Toronto – Billboard

Drake brought one of his musical idols to his stage at October World Weekend in Toronto: fellow Canadian Nelly Furtado.

“Thank God I’m a nice, polite, well-spoken person – I like to treat people the right way – because that’s the only way you can get This Get the next person out of the house to do what they’re going to do now,” Drake told the crowd at his hometown Club History on Thursday night (July 28).

“I don’t care how loud you sang tonight. Right now I want you to sing as loud as you can because it takes a lot here,” he said.

“The music of this next person changed my life a lot,” Drake said. “I love her with all my heart, so when she comes here you better show her some f-in’ love too.”

Furtado then joined Drake on stage at a concert. as a bill “A celebration of music that paved the way for all of us.” She moved on to the 2006 hit “Promising” before launching her 2001 breakthrough, “I’m Like a Bird.”

Drake encouraged his “choir” of audiences to sing along – “they have beautiful voices,” he insisted – “I’m like a bird.” He shouted “though my love is true” before embracing the singer and earnestly in other parts of the tune’s chorus.

The October World Weekend celebration continues on Monday. Chris Brown And lil babuy headlined the Budweiser stage and Drake on Friday, July 29, Nicki MinajAnd Lil Wayne It will be on the same platform on August 1.
