Courtney LaPlante thinks people might hate the new Spiritbox song

Some bands want to continue making the same album over and over, and others want to evolve over time. It’s all based on personal preference, but spiritbox fall into the latter category, and singers Courtney LaPlante Thinks some people might “even hate” the new songs they’re working on.

Spiritbox working on their first album eternal blue For several years before coming in September 2021. So while this material was new to their fans after its release, it was already old to them, and they were already looking forward to the next chapter. LaPlante and Guitarists mike stringer confirmed to Kerrang! That they already have eight new songs written.

“As scary as it is, all you have to do is do what makes you happy, make the music you want to make, and work with the people you want to work with,” Stringer admitted. “Because the moment you start limiting yourself, the music affects.”

,[The new songs are] really different to sing on eternal blue, I think some people might even hate them. But it gets me excited. I thrive on negativity!” LaPlante added. “We feel really energized playing and recording new songs. I hope that translates to those listening. It makes me want to drive really fast in a car.” Motivates to – I don’t even have a license, but I will!”

At the end of last year, we named eternal blue Our 2021 Album of the YearAnd both Stringer and LaPlant expressed similar sentiments about being ready to move on even then.

“we have heard [the Eternal Blue¬†songs] Thousands of times, and by the time September 17th comes, this will be my 2,000th time listening to ‘Silk in the Strings,’ but it was someone’s first,” Stringer explained. “So we’re going to spend the next year playing these songs. We’re obviously very, very happy to do it, but the time and stuff has made us realize what we want out of the new stuff that we’re about to start making. ,

“You know what really inspired us this year ice nine killstheir second [album] Silver Scream 2 Even just blowing their first big hit out of the water,” LaPlante said. “It was so inspiring to a lot of bands to always be afraid you can’t do it twice, you have one. There really can’t be a great reaction to the record and then make another one even better. It’s so up and down. So it got me really excited, it was very inspiring for us.”

Spiritbox has an upcoming showing at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Daytona this May, and will then head to Europe by the end of June before returning to the US for more festivals. View all their scheduled dates on their website,
